It has now been 20 months since the schools have been closed in Uganda due to the pandemic. School had just resumed in February 2020 before closing in March. The children returned the the caregivers adding extra pressure to their household. In June 2020, we were able to hire two local teachers who were now also out of work. This truly was a win win, they now had income in a country we little to no social support and now the kids as well as a few other local children had a chance to resume their learning. In addition to the tutors we have also been supplementing the family with additional food and supplies to keep everyone healthy. We are truly fortunate to have found a family whiling to take on this extended family, especially during a time of uncertainty.
